Empowering Future Educators with Practical Montessori Math Tools
On 20th July, Aatral Training Academy conducted an engaging and informative Montessori Apparatus Handling Session for our International Montessori Teacher Training students.
The session focused on the practical application of key mathematical concepts using authentic Montessori materials. Trainees had the opportunity to explore and work with essential apparatus such as:
Number Rods – to introduce quantity and number recognition
Golden Beads – for understanding place value and the decimal system
Spindle Box – for developing counting skills and the concept of zero
Metal Insets – to strengthen fine motor skills and prepare for writing. This hands-on experience enriched the trainees' understanding of Montessori pedagogy and equipped them with the skills needed to effectively implement these tools in a real classroom setting.
